Who: South London based singer Prvna is back and dispensing relationship advice to us all like a soulful Fairy Godmother.
What to say: Be prepared to have your levels of self-esteem sky-rocket and your self-believe raised as you grind to the RnB beats; Prvna is all about the self-growth.
What’s the inspiration behind your latest single?
I went into the studio with the idea in mind that I wanted to create an upbeat single which will make people dance; I knew what the vibe was already. I remember dating bad boys in the past and that feeling you have when you’re with someone that’s not really good for you. Even though you know they’re not ultimately the right person, you still have that dance with the devil. It’s about that beginning stage and just having that bit of fun.
In the video we see you and your girls preparing for a fun night out, if you could have any celebrity joining you, who would it be?
Who looks like they’ll be up for a lot of fun? Maybe Rihanna because she’ll give me great style advice too.
Which other artists do you listen to for inspiration?
Childish Gambino, a girl called Clay who I recently discovered and Rosie Lowe.
If you could listen to only one album for the rest of your life, which one would you pick?
I love The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill but if it was to be just one album it’ll have to something a bit more special, and because he’s not with us anymore, Mac Miller’s Swimming. As an artist he achieved perfection with that record and it was just so complete.
What are your plans for the rest of 2019?
Having fun and more shows as I’m releasing another single this year; I’m also getting prepared for an EP launch in January. Having fun, experimenting with music more and not taking it all so seriously otherwise it will get the better of you. I want to prioritise having fun while I still can as well as being more in the moment.
