Are you one of those people who start most sentences with “so there’s this pretty cool new band…” but you’re running out of pretty cool new bands to talk about? You’ve come to the right place.
What to say: South London is the new North London for music and these shoe-gazers from Peckham are prove of this statement.
The Q & A:
When did you decide that you wanted to pursue music as a profession?
Perry: Listening to music from a young age altered my mood, realising I could do this for others made me decide.
Ross: I never have, I pursue music as a creative outlet.
Which three words would you use to describe your sound?
Perry: Conscious, soulful, emotional.
Ross: Even better high.
What has been your proudest achievement to date?
Perry: Playing Glastonbury with Neil but for another band, it was also most anxiety inducing but that’s for another time.
Ross: about 10 years ago me and Perry won a box of Roses at an open mic night for best original song, that beats a Brit award any day of the week in my book.
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life what would it be?
Perry: Hunky Dory – Bowie
Ross: The White Album, there’s something there for every mood and some of the best songs they ever recorded.
What do you hope to have achieved by this time next year?
Perry: Having a great record out and a big enough following to play Brixton academy (my favourite venue)
Ross: Album out and a tour to support it, maybe even on a record label but doing it ourselves is fine.
