After having featured her latest single Drop Dead Gorgeous on our New Music Blag Mixtape, we felt that ELOÏSE is an artist you should be telling your mates about. Therefore we’ve calculated the maths and carried out the interrogation.
The Maths: Lana Del Rey / Eves Karydas
When did you begin creating music?
I’ve been writing songs since I was about 10 so I have a strong backlog of some of the worst pop you’ve ever heard, I’d call it dark Disney channel.
How would you describe your sound?
I’d describe it as the musings of a drunk, bitter girl at a Halloween party- dark, moody and electronic. It’s been described as ‘noir and b’ before and I’m never letting that go.
If you could listen to just one album for the rest of your life what would it be?
The soundtrack to a Baz Luhrman film, probably Romeo and Juliet so I have loads of songs to cry to but also the campy classic ‘young hearts run free’.
What do you hope to have achieved by the end of 2018?
I definitely want to get some more live shows, a slot in a big venue would be a good way to end the year.
What’s been your proudest achievement to date?
Definitely doing a set in The Ned Hotel, it was such an incredible venue and I felt good about the show.
