When: 3rd – 14th July 2018

Age: 2018 is the inaugural Innervisions.

The music: While celebrating music from around the world, Innervisions Festival focuses on soul, jazz, blues, funk, reggae, hip-hop and latin. In short, if you like your tunes with a beat and feeling you’re going to find a few things to love. Parliament Funkadelic merge electronic acid influences with soul and funk, with long time head honcho George Clinton, who won his first ever Grammy in 2016 for his work with Kendrick Lamar. Mavis Staples’ timeless voice has been brought to the attention of a younger audience in recent years thanks to tracks with Gorillaz and Arcade Fire, however as last year’s If All I Was Was Black LP showed, she’s at her best when it’s her soulful tones taking centre stage. Jimmy Cliff turned 70 this year, but continues to give effortless performances of his ska/reggae anthems, including You Can Get It If You Really Want. Despite having acted on Broadway and film, and with writing collaborations with Mary J Blige and Stevie Wonder in the bag, Angie Stone has still managed to become one of the iconic RnB singers of the last four decades. Elsewhere, expect to see Grammy Award winner Lalah Hathaway, iconic soul singer/songwriter Leroy Hutson, former George Benson / Chaka Khan / Paul Weller collaborators Incognito and so many more.

Tickets: Tickets can be brought on a show-by-show basis (starting from £22) or in bundles. For more information head here.
